Wintersports.

Bulgaria has no less than 4 different mountain ranges, the Stara Planina, the Rhodope, the Rila and the Pirin Mountains. The Bulgarian government has recognised the huge potential offered by winter sports market and has made a huge investment into developing ski resorts which match and often exceed those of other European centres. At present 3 international class resorts have been developed, Pamporova, Borovets and Banski.

These resorts have piste up to 2715 metres above sea level and have 75kms. Of ski lifts installed. Properties under construction now offer exceptional opportunities as they are positioned near to ski lifts, an enticement to those participating in winter sports, all facilities for the skier are incorporated into the designs and there is plenty more, health spas, swimming pools, restaurants, social centres abound. In the summer, the mountain areas continue to attract a large number of visitors. The mountains offer some of the best hiking available in Europe. Mountain bikers, horse riders are now discovering the pleasures of the area and Stara Platina offer some of the best handgliding and paragliding conditions.
